For 30 years, The Ties Program has humbly served adoptees and their families as they embark on birth country journeys. Working with the staff at El Amor de Patricia, Guatemalan Ties families see the sights, explore their country and culture, meet people important to their adoption, and give back.

 

Every donation, no matter the size, is appreciated, tax-deductible and goes directly to those in need. 

 

Our Projects:

• Elder Beds ($270): Currently the largest need in the community. It is very common for people in Guatemala to never sleep on a "real" bed. The bed has handrails and comes with a standard size mattress, a pillow, sheets, and a comforter. All components are sourced locally.

• Stove Installation ($205): Stoves are a significant need in the community and replace open fires inside homes, offering clean air, safety, and quality of life for families. These innovative stoves are designed with cultural needs in mind, allowing for pots of rice and beans to be cooked simultaneously with tortillas.

• Bunk Beds ($290): Give two children the gift of a good night's sleep! The cost includes delivery, the bedframe, 2 mattresses, 2 pillows, 2 comforters, and 2 sets of sheets, all sourced locally.

• Support Children's Home (any amount): The El Amor staff will buy the supplies it most needs. As an added bonus, donating helps the Guatemalan economy because El Amor can buy locally.

• In the "notes" section please add the last name of the Ties family you are donating on behalf of.

• If you are donating a specific item, please add what items and how many you are donating (Elder bed, stove, bunk bed, sheets, or a donation to El Amor).

• All deliveries and set up are done by Ties Flagship participants.
